Slow browsing from stations 2000 to 98

Have you ever noticed the delay that occurs when you try to open a share that is on stations 98 through 2000 computers? The delay, of up to half a minute sometimes, is caused by the 2000 station's attempt to find out whether the "scheduled tasks" option is enabled on the computer it connects to. Microsoft acknowledges the existence of the problem.

This problem can be solved by editing the Registry.

It is important!!!

Any change made to the Registry directly affects the functioning of the operating system. If you don't know how to handle the Registry, don't try it!!! Irreversible damage can be caused, which may end in the collapse of the operating system!!! In any case, make sure to make a backup of the Registry before making the changes!

To solve the problem, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and enter the key called:

ooftware\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace

There, delete the subkey called {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF} - by right-clicking on the value in brackets, and delete.
