Reinstall WSUS Role

Reinstalling the WSUS Role says:

Update not found, there may be a network connection problem (when trying to install WSUS)

Option 1

1. Delete Windows Update from the registry, located in the path HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows (to be safe, it is recommended to export to a Reg file)

2. Restart the Windows Update service 3. Now you can proceed and install WSUS in the following link:http://www.aidanfinn.com/?p=10183

Option 2

The problem was caused by: Group Policy entry Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Specify intranet Microsoft update service location The problem was solved by changing the setting to Not Configured.

This indicates an old WSUS server that was taken out of service and therefore the installation could not download a required update. After the installation is complete the setting is changed to the new WSUS server address.
